I make sculpture, installation, performance and artist’s books. My work is concerned with how objects and materials can act as repositories or vessels for thought and feeling, how they carry and convey meaning and memories, how we touch and are touched by things. This might be through their physical, functional and symbolic qualities, and how those aspects influence each other, or through their provenance and history, real or imagined. I am also deeply interested in the ways by which work is created, in the acts of gathering and collecting, the rituals and gestures of making.
